Gemini is a typeface specially designed to distinguish text running over several lines. To achieve this, it focuses on producing two different textures with equivalent blackness. To create two different patterns, one of the drawings marks verticality and the other horizontality, thanks mainly to the serifs and the distribution of weights.
The pairing takes three forms: minimum, medium and maximum. The degree of distinction can thus be modulated from minimum, where the two typefaces subtly coexist, to maximum, where they appear to be two entities with nothing in common, to medium, where the distinction is asserted but cohabitation is still possible. Like identical twins at birth, the two fonts grow up, try to distinguish themselves, and then assert themselves in two openly opposed personalities.
