According to a survey, 72% of the younger generation find easier to express their emotions with emojis than words. So I confronted them to this exercise. Participants were asked to translate old expressions with emojis only. But to make it more difficult, I chose expressions that are full of imagery. Thus, the metaphorical sentences play with the ambivalence of emojis: is it a translation of images or feelings?

The words are confronted to emojis, in the visual as in the facts. The aesthetics of the dictionary, serious and reasoned, contrasts with this new playful and lively language.
